Success Story: Officine Biglia chooses Daikin / Duplomatic solutions for electrospindle temperature control

 

Officine Biglia, a historic Italian machine tool manufacturer founded in 1958 in Incisa Scapaccino (Asti), is today among the leading international producers of CNC lathes and turning centers. With more than 150 employees and a production capacity of around 500 machines per year, the company has established a strong global presence in over 15 countries.

The continuous technological evolution of machine tools and the wide range of CNC lathes developed by the company require increasingly high-performance and reliable components. The variety of machine configurations, combined with the growing demand for efficiency and precision, makes the joint development of advanced solutions for hydraulic components, hydraulic systems, and fluid cooling systems essential.

In this context, Duplomatic MS has supported Officine Biglia for many years by supplying a range of hydraulic components specifically designed for their applications. More recently, the collaboration has expanded to include fluid refrigeration systems for the temperature control of electrospindles.

The solutions developed include dedicated refrigeration units for the AKW and AKL series, available in models 35 and 45 and in several configurations, with or without pump and/or tank, to meet different application requirements. The use of the refrigerant R32 refrigerant also ensures compliance with the requirements of the North American market.

The technological flexibility of the solutions provided by Daikin, combined with the customization capabilities of the Busto Arsizio business unit, has enabled the development of highly efficient systems perfectly integrated into Officine Biglia machines, contributing to improved thermal stability and electrospindle performance.

This collaboration highlights the importance of co-engineering between machine tool manufacturers and technology partners in developing increasingly efficient solutions tailored to the needs of advanced manufacturing industries.
